Most travel sites make you book a flight, then a hotel, and hope the dates line up. The Greeks does the combining in advance: pick a destination and a month, and every day already shows a complete trip with its price.

The idea

The Greeks is a travel brand that sells ready-made packages, the transport and the stay together at one price. It runs on the same platform as 18-24 Travel, the agency from Thessaloniki, with its own domain and logo. Behind the site sits a platform that has been in development since 2018 and keeps those packages computed before anyone asks for them.

On 19 October 2026 the home page counted 111 destinations, 3,522 hotels and 2,429 flights, and the engine had turned them into 6,973,781 different transport combinations. A visitor never sees that machinery. They see a month, a price on every day and a trip they can book.

From a month to a trip

The search starts loose and gets precise one tap at a time.

  1. Search by month, not by date

Search by month, not by date

A destination, a departure city, a number of nights and a month. Nobody has to know their dates yet.

  2. Every day already has a price

Every day already has a price

The month opens as a calendar with the lowest package price on each day, so the cheapest departure is visible at a glance.

  3. Hotels with the transport inside

    Hotels with the transport inside

Pick a day and the hotels appear with one price for transport and accommodation. For Thessaloniki to Athens on 24 November 2026 that meant 57 hotels.

  4. The whole trip in one card

The whole trip in one card

Outward and return legs with carrier, airports and times, the hotel and the cancellation terms, ready to book or to compare with the next option.

Combinations, kept ready

7.0M

Inside the package engine

Packages are computed, not searched
An outward leg, a hotel stay and a return leg are joined into a priced package and stored in daily Elasticsearch, now OpenSearch, indices. Queue workers keep recalculating them as prices change.
Freshness follows demand
What people search for decides what gets refreshed: searched dates go into 30-minute buckets that trigger supplier rescans, and hotels checked in the last 24 hours are skipped.
Pricing rules at every level
Profit, offers, sold-out windows, deposits, child discounts and a price clock that rises as departure gets closer, set per hotel, city, carrier, route or single package.
Many suppliers, one catalogue
Hotel sources such as Hotelbeds, RateHawk, iTravex and WebHotelier, Booking.com connectivity, and about fifteen flight and ferry adapters, next to the agency’s own coaches.
Built to run all day
Around forty queue types and clusters of API and worker processes, on MongoDB, OpenSearch, Redis and MySQL.
Help without leaving the page
An in-house live chat over Socket.IO, with typing and seen states, agent assignment and transcripts, plus a help centre with guided answers.

The same trip on a big screen

On a laptop the search stays beside the calendar, with filters for price, transport type, board, stars and hotel services. Payment works by card through Viva Wallet or in interest-free instalments.

More than one website

The same platform runs a family of products around the shop:

  • PR Agents, a portal where anyone can sign up and earn a commission on the trips they sell.
  • Hotelsrsv, the extranet where hotels manage their contracts and room prices.
  • Trip App, a PWA for the team on the road to sell extras, scan QR codes and follow schedules.
  • An admin panel with a Claude assistant that answers questions from the platform’s own data.

18-24.gr, hotelrsv.com and thegreeks.com, all built on this platform, each carry a Tourism Awards 2021 distinction.
